Let's all wear hats for be yourself day!

as a class, that is.

Why are there no large floppy straw/cloth ones here? I would like one, I think
or we could make random fascinators!
or we could wear kerchiefs?

I came

I leave to do less lovely things.

GO PEOPLE OF LIBYA!

(I didn't know how to spell it - so I tried googling it and Google offered me a platter of librarians links. Then I played around with it and got 'liberians' but realised that's derived from Liberia which is different.)

I thought I had a historical fiction (I suppose you call it historical fiction?) novel set in Libya but it turned out to be Liberia. Makes me kind of sad though, because these places have awful people ruling them e.g. current person in Libya to be blamed for all the madness now but whose name I cannot remember how to spell, Charles Taylor.

You know there's some advocacy/action thing - what are they called? anyway, there's a facebook event for it - where you can wear the old Libya flag somewhere or draw it on yourself tomorrow! (At least, I think it's tomorrow. We could make a (tinier than the Singapore flag) flag for our class deco too? :D

the small things

like water with three pieces of ice in it and realizing that it was latentheatgainlosstoenvironmentbecauseeverything'sonebigsystem-oohphysics

and turning to my email and seeing that everyone on gchat's online which means that all of us have checked our email in the last few minutes (yayforcompulsiveemailcheckers)

plus feeling inordinately happy being able to close the nciku tabs

-
pthh orientation was rather fail.

Yes, it is!

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that makes it difficult to tell the difference between real and unreal experiences, to think logically, to have normal emotional responses, and to behave normally in social situations.
The memory of Sandra dancing come to mind. Or rather, trying to. We shall leave the spinning to me, yes? She can do the voice-overs! And Sicheng.. sicheng can think orange-ly.

Ahh felling where you feel like your heart is so full and bursting but not going to break but awww.
(Don't you feel sometimes that using overly long and obscure (ish) and descriptive words adds an element of sarcasm? Or maybe my vocabulary's just inadequate ><)

I want to watch Ponyo! <3

Is it schizophrenia?

I feel as if I'm talking to myself.

This is not a subtle hint, or even a not-so-subtle one, but a demand for Sicheng and Aletheia to come on board the Malteser ship!

I like to think of glasses full of air.

Now using gmail in chinese! Everything looks odd. I'm not sure if it's good or bad that I don't understand half of what's on my screen. o.o

对于 CNY。。 I'm a sucker for tradition (pshh),又或是因为让亲戚长辈们开心的确不是一个很难的事 - 就像沙女孩说的..,等等-我不是讨厌CNY的。还有,如果没有CNY这个节日,那我连自己的(远方)亲戚都不知道!
很奇怪-我妈妈那边去年生了很多宝宝!我现在有三个属虎的表妹 (我是这一年代最老的。哇突然感觉到好老好老!)

Gosh. I couldn't say much. it's just a lack of words and proper thought processes and vocabulary and practice and that flowingness. Yes, just.

I like the Howl's Moving Castle soundtrack! :D

Of course, the CNY tradition

Enjoy your time sitting in your relatives' home, smiling and making polite conversation, or perfecting the art of blanking your mind with the background rustle of adult chit-chat, occasionally nibbling at ba gua, marking the time by how many snacks you eat (I take something to eat whenever I get too bored, so the longer I stay there, the more I eat), murmuring xie xie's as you receive the sacred red folded paper packet (two hands!) and trying not to look to relieved when you can finally leave.

Then repeat that process many more times throughout the day. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

(Bah, I am such a pessimist. Aletheia dear, how many jian baos must we do? Three or four?)

I don't think I would buy a pair of shorts that red.

I *like* this photo. :D
(heh still haven't really gotten the hang of manual focus. Manual-ing in general, really.
I don't know which I like better D:

On behalf on the bedside bears, I would like to wish all of you a very happy and prosperity-inducing chinese new year!

It's that time of the year again

Where, without doing any work, other than wearing red and carrying around oranges, we receive money in red packets.

Awesome shizz

Happy Chinese New Year

ps I want red shorts like those
