Of course, the CNY tradition

Enjoy your time sitting in your relatives' home, smiling and making polite conversation, or perfecting the art of blanking your mind with the background rustle of adult chit-chat, occasionally nibbling at ba gua, marking the time by how many snacks you eat (I take something to eat whenever I get too bored, so the longer I stay there, the more I eat), murmuring xie xie's as you receive the sacred red folded paper packet (two hands!) and trying not to look to relieved when you can finally leave.

Then repeat that process many more times throughout the day. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

(Bah, I am such a pessimist. Aletheia dear, how many jian baos must we do? Three or four?)
